An heirloom is a time-traveling piece passed down through the hands of generations, each one a fingerprint telling a story that becomes part of the next.

Maggi Simpkins fell in love with the magic of heirlooms listening to her mom tell family stories about the pieces in her jewelry box. That sparked a passion in her to make jewelry throughout her childhood, and in 2009 she started designing professionally.

After creating an engagement ring for a friend in 2015, she decided to focus on creating one-of-a-kind engagement rings. "When I showed it to him, he was speechless. I saw how powerful it was to be part of this important moment in life — the joy was palpable and I saw how powerful it was to be part of this important moment in life — this is why I create things.”

Maggi's work is narrative-driven. She sit with her clients, listening to their love stories and what makes their partner special and unique, incorporating hidden details and symbols throughout the ring, sometimes so hidden that only they know it is there.

“I am grateful and proud that people trust me with their stories, and that they trust me to make such significant pieces. I get to make heirlooms that symbolize sacred things and sacred times, and that feels like an extremely special task."
